Many thanks to the more than 30 artists who donated work to the Encaustic Art Institute's Second Annual Gala and Auction. The two part auction proved popular with attendees, who purchased seven works in the prix fixe ($250) portion and bid on and purchased six works in the silent auction. Gross income including art sales, tickets and several donations was approximately $5,200 about double last year's event. Attendees enjoyed jazz by the Body and Soul Trio and food prepared by founders Douglas and Adrienne Mehrens. The weather cooperated, providing a warm, starry evening so everyone present could view and bid on the art, relax on the patio and listen to the music. Thanks to one and all for your participation.
