Patricia Aaron's Upcoming Show

URBAN ABSTRACT-RURAL GRID. Patricia Aaron & Chandler Romeo. November 9, 2013 - March 8, 2014. MOA, Englewood City Center, Englewood, CO. Location: Indoor Galleries. On November 9th, 2013 MOA will open its newest exhibition, URBAN ABSTRACT – RURAL GRID, featuring the works of local artists Chandler Romeo and Patricia Aaron. Both artists have produced new original work for this exhibition in response to the 2013 MOA theme of “abstract”. Patricia Aaron utilizes the encaustic, or “hot wax painting”, process to create monotypes, sculptures, and large-scale paintings. Aaron will contribute more than a dozen mixed media pieces to this exhibition; she is represented by Space Gallery in Denver. Chandler Romeo’s sculpture is inspired by what she refers to as “vernacular earthworks”, the geometric shapes and patterns imposed on the Earth to organize cities and identify boundaries. Her ceramic earthworks explore the relationship we have with our environment – from our natural surroundings to the most urban cityscapes. Together Aaron and Romeo will create a vibrant atmosphere that explores the intersection of people and landscape. The opening reception for URBAN ABSTRACT – RURAL GRID will be November 9th, 2013 from 5 pm – 9 pm at MOA’s indoor gallery on the 2nd floor of the Englewood Civic Center. URBAN ABSTRACT – RURAL GRID will be on exhibit through March 8th, 2014. For more information please visit the MOA website at www.moaonline.org or call (303) 806-0444.
