Nominations for the third annual La Vendéenne Awards are now open.
The International Encaustic Artists (IEA) initiated these awards in order to foster the organization’s mission of providing a global information exchange and raising interest about encaustic in the art world and with the general public. The awards program honors the innovators among us who have created the tools and materials of encaustic art. It recognizes and thanks those whose hard work, ingenuity and excellence have paved the way for the rest of us in the encaustic community.
We invite everyone to think of award nominees who have advanced encaustic technique or materials. Nominate someone whose work and endeavors you respect! Any artist working with encaustic may be nominated and anyone can nominate, whether or not they are an IEA member. An independent panel of judges, curators and museum directors will select the finalists from the nominees submitted. Finalists in each of the four categories, Artistry, Innovation, Education and Media, will be honored at encaustiCon® in Miami, FL Winners will receive a specially designed trophy and a $500 cash award. Nominations will be accepted through June 15, 2014.
