The Encaustic Art Institute opens it's National Juried Exhibition,
which was open to all encaustic/wax artists nation-wide to enter.  Merry Scully juried in 41 paintings out of the bulk of entries for this show.  Merry is currently the Head of Curatorial Affairs at the New Mexico Museum of Art. Merry has been a curator for exhibitions of contemporary and historic art, photography and design in locations across the country including the New Mexico Museum of Art, San Francisco Art Institute and The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

This show represents an amazing variety of artists and only required that their pieces contain wax or encaustic elements. The diversity and range of styles are exciting to behold.  A cash award for Award of Excellence and Best of Show will be announced at the opening.

New Mexico artists from Santa Fe and Albuquerque are among those juried into the show. Artists will be traveling in to be at the opening on October 4th. Meet the artists, enjoy the collection of paintings, and get to know the EAI Gallery - Institute.
